A book embosser is a handheld steel tool that presses a raised, ink-free impression into paper. You place it on any page, press down firmly, and lift — leaving a permanent, elegant seal with your name or initials. No ink, no mess, no stickers.

Our embossers work beautifully on most paper types — from standard paperback pages to thick cardstock and envelopes. For best results, use paper between 80–300gsm. Very thin paper (under 60gsm) may tear, and cardboard or laminated surfaces are not recommended.

Open your book to the title page or first page. Place the embosser flat on the paper with the jaws aligned where you want the impression. Press the handles together firmly and evenly, then release and lift. That's it. For your first few uses, we recommend practising on a scrap piece of paper to get comfortable with the pressure needed.

No — when used correctly on suitable paper, the embosser creates a clean raised impression without tearing or damaging the page. The impression is permanent and will not fade over time.

Yes. The embossed impression is a physical change to the paper — it cannot be erased or removed. This is part of what makes it so special.

On the product page, choose your seal design, then enter the text you'd like engraved — your name, initials, a short phrase, or "From the library of [name]". You can preview your design before adding to cart.

At the moment we offer a curated collection of pre-designed seal templates, each customizable with your personal text. Custom logo embossers are not available yet, but we're working on it. Contact us if you have a specific request and we'll let you know when this becomes available.

Please double-check your name or text before placing your order — once production begins, changes are difficult. If we made an error that doesn't match what you submitted, we'll reprint at no charge. If the typo was in your original submission, we'll do our best to help but may need to charge for a reprint.

Every embosser is made to order. Most orders are produced and dispatched within 3 business days of being placed.
